Turmeric prices fell 0.51% to ₹13,206 on weak demand and increased supply. With the harvest underway at a faster pace, more crop is expected to enter the market next month. Turmeric arrivals have increased to 13,190 bags, almost double the previous session’s 6,780 bags, especially in significant markets like Nizamabad and Hingoli. Turmeric exports increased by 9.80% between April and November 2024 to reach 121,601.21 tonnes, compared to 110,745.34 tonnes in the same period in 2023. However, November exports fell by 20.18% month-on-month but grew by 48.22% year-on-year. Meanwhile, imports increased by 101.80% between April and November 2024, totaling 18,937.95 tonnes, although November imports declined by 34.84% compared to October. Turmeric prices in the Nizamabad spot market rose by 0.28% to ₹13,372.85.
