There’s a possibility of more arrivals in the market, which caused a drop in the price of Jeera

Jeera or cumin faced a decline of -0.73% due to increased arrivals, but global buyers still prefer Indian jeera due to tightening global supplies. The influx of new arrivals outpaced demand, thanks to favourable weather conditions and increased sowing areas in major cumin-producing regions of India.

In 2023, Gujarat produced 4.08 lakh tonnes of cumin, while Rajasthan saw a 53% increase in production. This caused a 23.75% decline in cumin exports. However, analysts expect a rebound in exports in 2024 due to increased sowing areas and declining international cumin prices.
