Tata Power plans to spend 2.5 times as much in the following five years.

Compared to the Rs 50,000 crore it spent between 2021 and 2025, Tata Power plans to spend 2.5 times as much capital over the following five years. Praveer Sinha, the company’s MD and CEO, said, “we will incur a capital expenditure of Rs 1.25 lakh crore between 2026 and 2030.”

The organization would incur an annual capital expenditure of Rs 25,000 crore. In FY24, the business spent Rs 12,000 crore, while in FY25, it spent Rs 21,000 crore. “Our performance has increased, and we ended the previous year with around Rs 62,000 crore in sales. Over the past ten years, we have generated an average revenue of Rs 60,000 crore,” Sinha remarked.

According to him, the company’s EBITDA increased from an average of Rs 7,000 crore to Rs 12,000 crore over the period prior. After taxes, the profit increased from Rs 1,100 to Rs 1,200 crore to Rs 4,200 crore.

“We’ve laid the groundwork and are prepared to surpass our current revenue level. By 2030, we hope to have crossed the Rs 1 lakh crore mark. Our current EBITDA is about Rs 14,000 or Rs 15000 crore, but we aim to reach over Rs 30,000 crore by 2030,” he stated.

By 2030, the corporation wants to make Rs 10,000 crore in profit. He declared, “We are expanding both our generation and transmission businesses.” He stated that Tata Power will have around 5,000 MW of hydro projects by 2030 and that the company anticipates having about 10,000 km of transmission line built by then, up from the current nearly 3,000 km.

At the new Tamil Nadu factory, Tata Power also plans to add 4 GW of cell and module production capacity; however, Sinha stated that the company would decide on capacity scaling up later.
With 12.5 million distribution clients, the business is looking to enter into public-private distribution agreements with Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
