Suzlon received a third order of 204.75 MW on Tuesday from Jindal Green Wind 1, a division of Jindal Renewables. This partnership is Suzlon’s largest Commercial and industrial (C&I) order to date, with a total capacity of 907.20 MW.
Previously, Suzlon added 702.45 MW of wind energy to power Jindal Steel’s operations in Chhattisgarh and Odisha by securing two deals. C&I clients currently make up 59% of Suzlon’s overall order book, which has now grown to a record 5.9 GW, the largest in the company’s history.
This new deal will see Suzlon provide 65 cutting-edge S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with hybrid lattice towers (HLTs), each with a 3.15 MW capacity rating. In order to improve the operational sustainability of the steel factories in Chhattisgarh and Odisha and support India’s green energy transition, the energy produced will be used for captive consumption.
“We’re now extending the Low CO₂ Steel movement to Tamil Nadu, a leader in wind energy, building on our initial successes in Karnataka,” stated Girish Tanti, vice chairman of Suzlon Group.
According to Jindal Renewables President Bharat Saxena, “This third order with Suzlon is a clear demonstration of our commitment to sustainable practices and our vision to become the largest de-carbonization solution provider.”
