Markets were less closed; BSE stocks performed better

Markets saw a negative day of trading, although broader markets gained momentum in the second half of trading. Bank Nifty cut the Nifty index by 0.2% and both indices closed குறைவாக 0.8% / 0.6% lower.

Shares of Coal India, GAIL, NTPC, and PHEL added new long-term levels and saw a huge rise as the Nifty BSE index rose 3% in the second consecutive trading session.

The Nifty Midcap index closed higher by 0.7%. The market width ended in favor of improvements as the forecast/decline ratio ended at 2: 1x. The Nifty saw long positions during the day somewhat unaware.

On the options front (May 13, 2021 expiry), across the board writing was seen in the call option strikes as Nifty trended lower. India Vix index closed at 19.85, down 2%.
