L&T Construction said on Monday that during the current quarter, its Power Transmission & Distribution division had secured significant orders both domestically and internationally. To ease the strain on the state’s electrical transmission grid, the company has been given an order to build 400kV and 220kV transmission lines in Chhattisgarh.
It received an order for the turnkey building of a 380kV substation with related overhead transmission lines in Saudi Arabia. In Kuwait, an additional order has been obtained for the construction of five substations, which will supply a future residential metropolis with a dependable and effective power supply. In Qatar, further orders for substations are being won.
In a huge step forward, the company has also secured a consortium order in Malaysia to build a 275kV underground cable system, which will treble the current network’s capacity for electricity transmission.
The company states that important orders are valued between Rs 5000 crore and Rs 7000 crore, mega orders are valued beyond Rs 7000 crore, and substantial orders are valued between Rs 1000 crore and Rs 2500 crore. Large orders are valued between Rs 2500 crore and Rs 5000 crore.
