JSW Energy arm bags new project from NTPC

JSW Neo Energy, a JSW Energy subsidiary, declared that it has obtained a letter of award (LoA) from NTPC to establish a 300 MW wind-solar hybrid power plant that is connected to the ISTS. The award is a component of the tariff-based competitive bid that was requested for the creation of 1,000 MW ISTS-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects under NTPC Tranche-VI.

JSW Energy now has 16.7 GW of total locked-in generation capacity, including 2.6 GW of hybrid capacity (including FDRE), thanks to this recent capacity award. By FY25, the company hopes to increase its installed generation capacity from the existing 7.5 GW to 10 GW.

Furthermore, JSW Energy has obtained 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity via hydro-pumped storage projects and battery energy storage systems. By 2030, the company wants to have 40 GWh of energy storage capacity and 20 GW of generating capacity. Additionally, JSW Energy is dedicated to becoming carbon neutral by 2050.

Announcing in isolation that it has inked a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) for a 300 MW solar capacity granted by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), JSW Renew Energy Twenty, a step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy, made the news.
