Of the 20 lakh bags of cumin stored by farmers, only about 3–4 lakh bags are expected to be sold this season. The start of the harvest was delayed due to bad weather in Gujarat and Rajasthan, which has caused supply problems.
On the export front, cumin exports increased by 66.98% from April 2024 to January 2025, from 109,097 tonnes to 182,168 tonnes. However, exports in January 2025 fell by 5.5% compared to the previous month, indicating weak international demand. During the same period, cumin imports fell by 93.84% compared to the previous year,
