Natural gas prices fell 0.12% to ₹258.7 on rising production pressure and forecasts of milder weather. In December, U.S. gas production in the Lower 48 states increased to 102.3 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd), below the record of 105.3 bcfd set in December 2023 but above the November average of 101.5 bcfd. Futures prices for April 2025 are higher than those for March 2025,

Demand is expected to fall from 136.3 bcfd this week to 128.1 bcfd next week due to weather forecasts. Despite these challenges, U.S. gas inventories remain strong at 3,967 billion cubic feet, after drawing 2 billion cubic feet last week. This is 7.2% above the five-year average and 3.5% above the same period last year. Injections were above the five-year average in the last several weeks of the season, further strengthening the savings.
