Jeera prices fall after shopping season ends!!!

Jeera (cumin) prices fell 1.93% on Wednesday to close at ₹18,790. This happened as domestic and international demand weakened after the shopping season ended.

Farmers currently have about 20 lakh bags, but only 3-4 lakh bags are expected to be sold by the end of the season. This means that about 16 lakh bags will remain in excess stock.

From April to May 2025, cumin exports have declined sharply to about 42,925 tonnes – a decrease of 27.07% over the previous year. Although May exports increased by 17.68% over April and 11.26% over the previous month, they are still below last year’s figures, indicating weak global demand.
