Domestic supplies remain ample, with farmers holding around 20 lakh bags of cumin. Production is estimated at 90-92 lakh bags for the current season, with Gujarat’s output at 42-45 lakh bags and Rajasthan’s at 48-50 lakh bags.
Global production in cumin-growing nations faces challenges, with Syria, Turkey, and Afghanistan producing 9-12 thousand tonnes each.
India’s jeera exports fell sharply by 48.11% year-on-year in April 2025 to 19,719.60 tonnes, but showed a 13.74% increase month-on-month compared to March.
