Jeera falls on weak buying and exports

Jeera prices dropped by 0.34% to 20,750 due to muted domestic demand and weak export activity. Traders attributed the drop to the end of the retail season and a lack of fresh buying interest from overseas markets.

Comfortable supply levels and subdued demand have increased downward pressure. Arrivals in major mandis surged to 32,900 bags, amplifying the supply glut.

Despite the correction, the overall export trend remains positive, with Jeera exports increasing by 62.55% to 195,164.58 tonnes between April and February 2025.

However, February exports saw a 23.92% month-on-month drop, indicating a temporary slowdown. Imports plummeted by 93.70% to 1,102.04 tonnes, indicating strong domestic availability.
