Jeera (cumin) prices fell by 5% in July 2025 as exports remained weak!!!

Jeera (cumin) prices fell by around 5% in July 2025 and ended at ₹18,970 on NCDEX. The decline was due to weak exports, especially as buyers in Bangladesh and the Gulf did not place fresh orders. In India too, buyers were waiting for clear price trends before buying.

Jeera exports declined by 27% to 42,925 tonnes in April-May 2025 compared to the same period last year. This sharp decline in exports is a major reason for the fall in prices. Meanwhile, cumin arrivals in key markets like Unja, Rajkot and Kondal have remained stable. Globally, India is facing strong competition from countries like Syria, Iran and Egypt, which are offering good quality cumin at cheaper prices.

However, the situation could change in August. The support is around ₹18,500. This means that prices could rise again soon. If cumin breaks above ₹18,980 on good trading volume, it could rise to ₹19,500 or ₹20,000. Cumin prices could rise in August if exports improve and technical signals are strong. The key support level is ₹18,500, and traders are looking for a move towards ₹19,500–₹20,000.
