A new hybrid order of 486 MW was secured by Suzlon Group and Torrent Power, the company stated on Friday. In a regulatory filing, the business stated that the strategic partnership is essential to bolstering the Made in India campaign and assisting India in reaching its ambitious goal of 50% of electricity coming from renewable sources.
In the Bhogat region of Gujarat, Suzlon will provide 162 cutting-edge S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice (HLT) Towers, each rated at 3 MW power, as per the deal.
“We are honored to collaborate with Torrent, a leader in incorporating renewable energy sources into their energy portfolio,” stated Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group. One GW of cumulative orders throughout Gujarat and Karnataka is a tremendous milestone in our ten-year relationship. This cooperation, which is based on trust, creativity, and a common goal, has used cutting-edge technologies to provide approximately 1 million families with high-quality power. We are still dedicated to working together to advance India’s energy transition and create a sustainable future.
“Torrent Power has been a valued long-term partner in our journey, and together, we share a vision of providing reliable, sustainable, and quality power to the nation,” stated JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group. This relationship has been largely driven by the success of our S144 wind turbine, which is renowned for its capacity to provide optimal power performance even in low-wind circumstances. This significant achievement demonstrates the depth of our collaboration and the role that cutting-edge technology plays in propelling India’s transition to renewable energy.
Suzlon Energy reported a 48% YoY increase in revenue to Rs 2103 crore for the second quarter of FY25 earlier in November, while its net profit nearly doubled to Rs 200 crore. The business had 5.1 GW in its order book.
