WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil futures were up 0.34 percent to $77.10 in September, while October Brent oil futures were up 0.18 percent to $79.80.
In Monday’s first hour of trading, August crude oil futures were up 0.51% on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) at ₹6477 compared to the previous close of ₹6444, and September futures were up 0.44% at ₹6387 compared to ₹6359.
The market is also anticipating this week’s publication of consumer price index inflation data from the US and other major economies. Recent US economic figures alleviated concerns about inflation in that nation. This contributed to the increase in the price of commodities like crude oil.
In the first hour of trading on Monday, August natural gas futures were trading at 185.60 on MCX, up 2.83 percent from the previous close 180.50.
