The Indonesian state-owned company Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has placed an order with Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) for 35,000 of its light commercial vehicles, the Scorpio Pik Up. The automaker said in an exchange filing that the cars will be delivered in 2026 as part of a joint initiative in the nation in Southeast Asia.
According to the company, these pick-up trucks for the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) project would be essential to improving logistics for Koperasi (cooperatives) that are being established all across the nation. The company also stated that the most recent car order exceeds the company’s FY25 overall export volumes.
According to Mahindra & Mahindra, as part of the partnership, Mahindra and Agrinas Pangan Nusantara will collaborate to provide Koperasi with these vehicles in order to guarantee a smooth and efficient flow of fresh goods from farmers straight to the marketplace, thereby closing the gap between producers and consumers.
The Scorpio Pick-up vehicles produced at the business’s Nashik Plant are designed to satisfy Koperasi’s operational needs, including difficult country roads and farm tracks, according to the company.
Mahindra & Mahindra reported 1,04,309 cars sold overall in January 2025, a 24% increase including exports. Mahindra sold 104,309 vehicles total, including exports, in the Utility Vehicles segment, with 63,510 vehicles sold domestically, representing a 25% increase. Commercial vehicle sales were up 22% domestically at 27,656.
