Pulses trade lower: Agri commodities index down 0.37%

The Agriwatch Agri Commodities Index eased 0.37% to 108.66 during the week ended September 18, 2018 from 109.06 the previous week led by lower pulses prices. The Onion Index fell a further 2.89% after last week’s 11% decline with onset of Kharif crop arrivals in south India.

The base for the Index and all sub-Indices is 2014 (= 100). Eight of the nine commodity group sub-Indices and 16 of the 29 individual commodity sub-Indices declined this week.

The commodity group  sub-Index values and their weekly changes are: Cereals: 115.94 (-0.13%), Pulses: 104.67 (-2.11%), Potato & Onion: 81.06 (-1.01%), Edible Oils: 110.85 (-0.28%), Oilseeds: 101.71 (+0.10%), Spices: 115.96 (-0.38%), Sweeteners: 102.13 (-0.21%), Fibres: 113.33 (-0.57%) and Other Non-Food Articles: 95.24 (-0.58%).
